1986 & 1987 Savages

Picked up these 2 "garage finds" yesterday 8/27/27. And the trailer too!! Don't know the condition of the engines yet, but one has 8756 miles the other has like 16,000. Pretty rough cosmetically, but ALL SORTS of spare parts, once I get into them I'll know more. I would like to make one a bobber, rigid rear frame and chain drive conversion, but supposedly they "both ran when parked"in 1999!! But isn't that ALWAYS the case!!
I finally got a place cleared out in the motorcycle shed, so I got the 2 garage find Savages indoors ya know.

3 days ago I introduced some "fogging" oil to the cylinder, of the lower mileage one, via the spark plug hole.
This morning, with the plug out I put it up into 2nd gear and pushed it forward about 1 foot. The engine rolled easily! I didn't pus or roll the engine long enough, or fast enough to pull any contaminants from the float bowl, at least I don't think. Tomorrow I'll get the carb removed and clean it out .

'87 Savage project bike build

I have this 1987 Suzuki Savage that I picked up cheap, as a "barn find", well actually TWO Savages!! One '86, & One "87. I have robbed a few parts off the '87 to use on my '99 which is my daily driver.
The robbed parts are:
Carburator
Clutch cable
Mounting bracket for speedo.
The '87 has in my opinion pretty low miles...8700!
I want to make this a simple MO BULLSHIT bike "only what ya need" if you know what I mean!!!

The Bike as I recieved it. " ran when I parked it" you know the story!!!!

As it sits now, after I removed some stuff so I can get down to business

Our Newport 16 "Match'd"

One day on the way home from work I spotted this decent looking yet "affordable" looking small sailboat. I mentioned it to Judy (my wife) when I got home. We have both always been interested in sailing, but neither of us ever had. We have both been on sailboats, but never really sailed them ourselves.

Savage seat mod...

I'm seeking a lower profile seat for my Suzuki Savage. I have a pretty rough shape "doner" seat from one I have dicected in the name of research!

Well, I have decided on a different plan of attack!
I found an eBay seller who has 25+ years in the automotive upholstery bussiness.
They offered a custom hand sewn marine grade vinyl cover for what I felt was a DAMN good price.
I recieved it Thursday, I work 2nd shift, so when I got home I located my best seat foam, a good seat pan and "mocked" it all up. Friday night after work, I stapled it all up
Saturday 189 miles riden, 197 riden Sunday

Next seat I do, and there WILL be another! I  want to incorporate this into the foam!
